Instructions
To integrate your Iterable account with Telnyx, complete the steps below.
Step 1: Talk to your Iterable customer success manager
Let your Iterable customer success manager know that you'd like to integrate your Iterable account with Telnyx. After they've prepared your Iterable account for the integration, continue on to the next step.
Step 2: Configure your Telnyx account and related settings
First, you'll configure your Telnyx account and gather some information from it. You'll need to:
-
Create a Telnyx API key (must be for Telnyx API v2).
To do this, log in to Telnyx and go to Account Settings > Keys & Credentials. Confirm you're creating a v2 key by reviewing the API Keys description.
Click Create API Key, then click Create to confirm. You'll receive your v2 API key to copy. Save this to enter in Iterable later.
Create one or more Telnyx messaging profiles.
Work with your Iterable implementation consultant or customer success manager to prepare your Telnyx account and gather necessary information.
NOTE
For Telnyx accounts created before March 2, 2023:
By default, when a contact sends an opt-out keyword to one of your Telnyx senders, the contact is opted out of your Telnyx account overall. Optionally, you can change this behavior so that the contact is only opted out of the specific messaging profile that sent the message. To update this, contact Telnyx.
Step 3: Connect your Telnyx account to Iterable
Now, add your Telnyx account information to Iterable:
In Iterable, go to Settings > Sending Platforms.
In the Connect a New Platform section, click Telnyx Direct.
On the Telnyx page that appears, click Add Account.
-
Fill in the required fields:
- Name: For display in Iterable. Example, "Telnyx Production Account"
- API Key: Must be for Telnyx API v2.
- Signing Secret: Find this in the Telnyx portal under Account Settings > Keys and Credentials > Public Key
When you're finished, click Connect.
For the account you've just created, click Add Messaging Profile.
-
Fill in information about the messaging profile you'd like to associate with the account:
Select an Optional Message Type Binding to associate SMS subscriptions for this sender with a specific message type. To learn more about choosing a message type binding in this step, see Managing SMS Opt-Outs by Message Type.
When you're done, click Add Messaging Profile.
Step 4: Finish configuring Iterable
To finish setting up your Iterable account to work with Telnyx, work with your implementation consultant or customer success manager. You'll need to do a few more things, like configure your senders and message channels and types.
Step 5: Send yourself a test SMS campaign
