# Create an API key
To create an API key, go to Integrations > API Keys and create a Server-side API key.
See Creating API Keys for detailed instructions on how to create, name, and store the API keys you need for authenticating with Iterable's partner platforms.
IMPORTANT
API keys are only visible the first time you create them. Make sure to immediately copy the key and store it somewhere secure. If you lose it, you won't be able to retrieve it—you'll have to create a new one.

# Connect Okendo to Iterable
Go to Shopify Admin > Apps > Okendo.
Select Settings > Integrations.
-
Select Iterable and enter the API key you created earlier.
Click Save.
Once you've established the connection, user profile fields and events will start syncing from Okendo to Iterable, and the integration performs a data backfill for supported data types where applicable. For backfill details, see Okendo's support article Integrating Iterable with Okendo.
