You can use Next Best action to review details about the campaigns that are recommended for retargeting and create new campaigns based on those recommendations. You can also generate a list of the users who didn't engage with a campaign for other uses.

Review Next Best Action campaign suggestions

In the Campaigns index page, click Suggestions next to the Campaigns header.
NOTE
If nothing stands out in the performance of your campaigns, you may not see any suggestions, but we’ll keep an eye out and let you know if anything changes.

In the Discover Campaign Suggestions window, you'll see a list of campaigns that have completed with lower engagement than expected and are considered to be good candidates for retargeting. Click on a campaign to view its details in Campaign Analytics.
NOTES
- A maximum of 10 suggestions are available at any one time.
- Suggestions are removed 30 days after they appear in this list.
Create a Next Best Action-recommended campaign
You can create a new campaign based on Next Best Action recommendations by choosing a campaign from the list of suggestions or by clicking Explore in Campaign Analytics when you see a Next Best Action recommendation banner above the Overview header.
- In Campaign Analytics, click Explore to view details about the suggested changes to the currently selected campaign.

In the Retarget Unengaged Users window, you'll see:
The number of users who didn't open or click the selected campaign
The campaigns that these users opened or clicked the most, by campaign name, with a brief description of what users might have responded to for each top-performing campaign

The recommended copy for a new campaign that's based on the currently selected one
NOTE
To view details for one of the top emails opened, copy the campaign name from this window and paste it into the search bar in the Campaigns index.
Click More Ideas to show additional suggestions.
Select the version of recommended copy that you prefer.
Click Continue and Create Campaign.

Update any settings you'd like to change and proceed as you normally would to create and send a campaign.
NOTE
Next Best Action is intended for English text. If you use non-English locales, remove them when you're setting up the new campaign.
Generate a list of users for retargeting
After you select the suggested copy that you want to use and click Continue and Create Campaign, you'll see that the name of the new campaign reflects the original campaign name with "[AI Retargeting]" at the beginning. In addition, the list of users to whom the new campaign will be sent is displayed, also with the "[AI Retargeting]" prefix. You can use this user list for other purposes in the future.
NOTE
To help Iterable monitor the performance of the retargeting campaign, 15% of the users who did not engage with the original campaign are excluded from the AI retargeting list that’s generated.
To view details about the retargeted users list:
Make note of the name shown in the Campaign creation window.
Navigate to Audience > Lists.
Select the name of the list that you're interested in. For more information, see Lists Overview.
TIP
After sending a Next Best Action-recommended campaign to a retargeted group, you can compare its performance with the original campaign. To do so, create an experiment using the original campaign as the control and the recommended subject line as a variant. Launch the experiment, sending both campaigns to the AI retargeted send list.
