Two-factor authentication (2FA) provides an extra layer of security for your Iterable login. With 2FA enabled, members will need both a password and a code generated on a device in their possession (e.g., a smartphone) to sign in to Iterable.
In Iterable, you can turn on 2FA for your own account.

Setting up 2FA
Before getting started with two-factor authentication, download an authenticator app for your phone (unless you have a separate, 2FA-dedicated device). The below instructions use Google Authenticator, but any similar app will work.
To set up 2FA:
-
Click the Edit My Account link in the top-right menu.
-
On the account screen, you'll find the Two-factor Authentication setting, which is disabled by default. Click the toggle to enable 2FA.
-
Next, log out of Iterable and log back in. After you enter your password, you will be prompted to scan a QR code with your authenticator app.
This code provides the app with the information it will need to generate two factor codes for your account in the future. If you do not have the ability to scan the QR code, Iterable provides a code to manually enter in your app.
The authenticator app will locate your Iterable account information. Find Iterable in your authenticator app and its associated code.
Take the code that's displayed in the authenticator app and enter it into the box for this one-time code. Then click Continue.
Your registration is now complete! To log in, enter your username and password, and then enter the one-time code from your authenticator app.
Reviewing 2FA-enabled members
To review which members in an Iterable organization have 2FA enabled, log in to Iterable as a member that has the Manage Members org permission. Then, navigate to Settings > Organization Members and inspect the 2FA column.
Disabling 2FA
There are two ways to disable 2FA for a specific organization member:
As a member with the Manage Members org permission, navigate to Settings > Organization Accounts. Click on the name of the member in question, then click Edit Details. Finally, disable 2FA for the member by clicking the Disable Two Factor Authentication button.
Members can disable 2FA for themselves by logging in, clicking Edit My Account in the upper-right menu, and clicking the toggle underneath the Two Factor Authentication setting. It will change from enabled to disabled.
Notes for Iterable administrators
Org admins can disable 2FA for individual member accounts as needed, but they cannot:
- Require 2FA for any or all members.
- Enroll members in 2FA (members must do this for themselves).
- Reset 2FA enrollment for a given member. Instead, have the member contact Iterable customer support.
