Iterable customers can use Phrasee to optimize their email subject lines with machine learning, boosting open rates and promoting conversions.
NOTE
This integration requires an Iterable account and a Phrasee account.
If you’re not already an Iterable client, request a demo to discuss the how the Iterable and Phrasee integration can work for you.
Using Phrasee subject lines in Iterable
-
Start in Phrasee. Create new campaign:
-
When you click on Go forth, Phrasee will calculate a statistically significant split test for your audience size and tell you how many splits / variants you need to test and what size the splits should be.
-
Complete the campaign details in your account. These questions are different for every client and will have been explained in your Phrasee on-boarding.
-
After clicking the Magic button, Phrasee will generate the subject lines it thinks will perform the best for the campaign you specified in step 2.
-
Once your subject lines have been approved click Accept and continue.
You will now be presented with your final subject lines. You can either download or copy the subject lines to your clipboard. At this stage you can leave Phrasee by clicking Save and exit. Or leave Phrasee open to copy individual subject lines to iterable.
Open Iterable.
-
Create a new campaign, and select a template and audience.
-
Edit the template. Change the subject line of the template to your user line as this will be used as the control in your experiment.
-
After changing the settings for this campaign click on Create A/B Experiment in order to set up your split test options. Change the option to reflect the setting provided to you by Phrasee in the campaign creation. Phrasee suggests waiting 4 hours for testing and selecting the winning subject line based on open.
-
In the Design step (step three), change the subject lines of the variants by copying and pasting the Phrasee subject lines. Remember not to include your Human line again at this stage as this should be in the control email from when you edited the template.
-
After copying your subject lines you are ready to Review & Launch your campaign.
-
Launch your campaign by selecting either Send campaign right now.. or Schedule campaign for Later.
-
After confirmation your campaign will either be scheduled or start sending.
-
The campaign will be run at the scheduled time and the winning subject line will be deployed to the remainder of the audience after the specified test period.
-
After some time (possibly a couple of days or at least before your next Phrasee campaign in Iterable), you need to feed results back into Phrasee. You can get these results from the Iterable experiment dashboard.
-
Select the experiment you want results for and enter a custom date to get the metrics for the split test time and the final send. Manipulating the dates and times in the dashboard can get both of the sets of metrics.
-
You can export these results to a CSV for upload into Phrasee using the export button.
-
This will produce a report that you can format like the pictured example for import into Phrasee.
-
Having these reports—one for the split tests and one for the final results—you can log back into Phrasee and import them into the appropriate campaign.
-
You can choose whether to import results from a CSV file or enter them manually.
-
Manual or automatic results feedback will both get you to the following step. Check that the results match and click Next.
-
You can then enter the final results of the campaign.
-
That’s it! You’re done one with successful Phrasee campaign.
