Recurring blast campaigns are useful if you send an email at regular intervals. This feature may be used for:
- Daily menu emails from a food delivery company
- Daily article emails from a media company
- Weekly digest emails documenting a user's weekly usage of your app
This article documents how to create a recurring blast campaign, how to turn off a running recurring campaign and how to use the recurring campaign in segmentation
How to Create a Recurring Blast Campaign
1. Begin by creating a new blast campaign
Either by clicking 'New Blast Campaign' on the left menu
Or by clicking the green "Create New Campaign" button
2. Next, select your list and suppression list (optional)
The recurring campaign will use these lists every time it sends.
3. Select your template.
Choose a template for your campaign. Many times, recurring campaigns will pull data from a data feed that is regularly updated. Learn more about how to use data feeds in campaigns here.
4. Make edits to your template
5. Schedule your campaign and flip on the 'Recurring' button.
You will then select a time to deliver your campaign.
You can specify how often the campaign will run. Currently, a recurring campaign can only be sent, at max, once every 24 hours. You can also skip certain days of the week.
Finally, you can decide how far in advance you would like to create the campaign. You cannot create the campaign 0 hours before send time. Once the campaign has been created, it will have a status of 'Scheduled' until send time.
Turning Off a Recurring Campaign
First, locate the recurring campaign by going to Blast--> Recurring on the left menu.
Click into the recurring campaign of interest and click the 'Cancel' button:
This will prevent the recurring campaign from scheduling future campaigns but will not affect the ones that are already scheduled.
Alternatively you can archive the campaign by hovering over the campaign and clicking on the trash can icon. This option will cancel the recurring campaign to prevent it from creating new campaigns and cancel any scheduled campaigns.
Recurring Campaigns in Segmentation
In Segmentation, you can check to see if a user was ever sent an email from a recurring campaign by creating this query:
Currently, it is not possible to see if a person has ever opened or clicked an email from a recurring campaign. You can only look to see if a person opened or clicked a specific campaign that the recurring campaign created.
