This article describes how to create and send a Roku campaign.

Required permissions
To create in-app messages for Roku devices, you must have the Draft Campaigns permission for your project.
Creating a campaign
Once you've added your Roku channel to your Iterable project and installed the Roku SDK in your channel's code, you can start sending in-app message campaigns to Roku devices.
To create a campaign for your Roku channel, head to your Iterable project's Campaigns page. Click New campaign, choose Blast or Triggered, and select In-App for the message medium.
For Destination, choose either Everything (all apps, all websites, and all OTT destinations), OTT (all OTT destinations), or Custom.
Then, build or attach a template with your Roku content.
Designing a Roku message
You can add images, text, and buttons to the Roku messages you build in Iterable (a maximum of one image and two buttons).
Images
Just like with in-app messages that you send to your app or website, images you add to a Roku message must be hosted. To add an image, enter a URL in the Image URL field.
There is no size limit for images, but in general, smaller images load faster than large images. For best results, use an image with the following dimensions:
- 540x304 pixels
- 16:9 aspect ratio
Title and Body
There is a 100-character limit for each text field in a Roku message.
Roku messages do not support HTML, since they're built using native Roku interface components.
However, you can use your own fonts in the Roku messages you send with Iterable.
To do this, add a .ttf
file to the Title font and Body font fields (these
fields appear after you enter title or body text), and have your developers add
this file to your Roku channel. If you don't specify any fonts, Iterable uses
default fonts: Source Sans Pro-Regular and Source Sans Pro-Bold.
The Title and Body fields support snippets and Handlebars.
Buttons
You can add up to two buttons to a Roku message. To add a button, click Add button.
Enter your CTA in the Button text field, then add a deep link to the part of your app where you want to send users when they click the button. (For example, if they click Watch Now, you might want to link them directly to Episode 1 of a show.)
You can customize what each button looks like when the message first appears, and when a user hovers over the button to select it. To change a button's appearance, enter a 6-character hex code in the color fields under Default style and Hover style.
Background
You can customize the background color of a Roku message. Enter a 6-character hex code in the Background field, and the design preview automatically updates to show you what it looks like. When you've found the color you want to use, make sure to click Save.
