When Creating and Configuring Campaigns, create an experiment as described in this article, based on your situation.
In this article
Experimenting with a new campaign
To create an experiment for a new standalone or journey campaign, create the campaign as you normally would, and from the Campaign design page, under Conversions and Experiments, click Edit and Add experiment. This takes you to the Experiments page, where you can set up your experiment.
NOTE
You must select a conversion event when you set up your campaign if you're going to include a holdout group in an experiment.
Experimenting with an existing campaign
There are two ways you can create an experiment for a campaign that's in the Draft or Ready state.
TIP
It's generally best not to create an experiment for a campaign that's running. Doing so decreases the fidelity of the data that's available for you to analyze when the experiment concludes.
Experiments page
To create an experiment for a campaign from the Experiments page:
-
Navigate to Messaging > Experiments and click New Experiment.
Choose Blast or Triggered and select the existing campaign for which you'd like to create an experiment.
Click Choose (in the upper-right corner).
Campaign Review page
To create an experiment from an existing campaign's Campaign Review page:
Navigate to Messaging > Campaigns and open the campaign for which you'd like to create an experiment.
Click Edit campaign, and from Conversions and Experiments, click Edit, then click Add experiment.
TIP
You can also create an experiment when editing a campaign in a journey tile.
